Friday · April 24 · Doors at 6pm · Show at 7pm
On Friday, April 24th, the charity spectacle Derby Days will combine high flying snowboarding with Coachella-style bands in Downtown Los Angeles. The USC Sigma Chi Fraternity hosts their annual event to raise money for the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.  Red Bull USA, The Marriott Hotels, Tavik Clothing, Wahoo's Fish Tacos, and Los Angeles’ own 97.1 AMP are presenting sponsors.

TONY ALVA, skateboard legend and CHLA supporter, is hosting Derby Days 2009, while FUEL TV and Fox College Sports film the action.

The 2009 Derby Days will feature the Campus Rail Jam Tour, a portable X-treme sports entertainment event that comes with 22 tons of snow. The CRJT is a grassroots snow sports movement dedicated to promoting a mix of professional and amateur snow sports. The CRJT will kick off Friday's events with three snowboarding competitions filled with fakies, method grabs, and nose press 50-50 slides.

In 2008, Derby Days donated over $50,000 to the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.

For the past 5 years, Derby Days and Nickel Productions has helped sponsors connect to a difficult to reach college audience in a special setting. Past events sponsors include Red Bull, KROQ, and Tavik Clothing.
